A school day. 

I'm aware that there are lots of different game birds, and I know a lot of them are imports, even many that are now 'wild'  I wasn't really aware there were different pheasants though.

There's a chance this is a Japanese Green Pheasant that's escaped, but it was a goodly ways from anywhere likely to be a shoot. Google tells me it's almost certainly a Melanistic Mutant Pheasant - which frankly sounds awesome with a pinch of terrifying, apt for these difficult times.
