Teide from the Caldera
It is not that many years since the last eruption in 1909. It could go off again any time and you can see the past lava flows. It is very much like a crater on the moon. A truly wonderful landscape exhibiting the awesome power of the earth. In essence, we humans are just passers by - geologically speaking.
