I didn't intend to go to Bowness but ..........


I'd been into Kendal, made appointments to sort some financial matters and done a bit of shopping. Then a stop at Booths in Windermere for bread and sausages.

At Troutbeck Bridge the traffic halted and nothing was coming the other way. I was at a convenient turning point so headed back to Windermere to consult traffic updates on my phone and consider options. By this time I'd  seen two police vans with lights and sirens. 

So, over Kirkstone, across the ferry or a walk around Bowness until the road was cleared? I had boots and an umbrella in the car so opted for the latter. No camera but fortunately a fully charged phone. Saved me going for a walk in the afternoon.
