Odd desires

As we were driving along, we saw a guy smoking a cigarette while skateboarding toward the intersection. That led to this exchange.
Mom: "I wish I could learn to smoke and . . ."
Me: "Skateboard?"
Mom: "What?"
Not sure what it was she wanted to learn. Maybe she just wanted to experience the freedom and recklessness that guy seemed to be enjoying.
