Fire and water

The water is obvious today as it has been raining heavily all night and through today. After Yoga this morning we went for a short walk up the glen. The burns were looking good.

As we walked through the village we saw the house where fire broke out last night, the damage is shocking with not much left of this lovely old building which was a lovingly restored church. See extra for the remains of the building.

The roads around it are closed as they think the belfry and gable will collapse onto the main village road. This closes our street at one end but causes chaos for the school a few meters up the road which now has only single track access. The good thing is nobody was hurt but they lost everything, for a retired couple that must be difficult.
