CAT Open Day

We had a brilliant day today- it was the Academy of Northern Ballet CAT open day. We got to watch the northern ballet company class first of all, which was amazing. This is her favourite of their soloists. He was stunning. She was also fascinated by their pianist. He had a broken right foot so had to pedal with his left. And started improvising on Auld Lang Syne.

After a lunch break, it was the kids’ turn to take class. She worked so well and the teacher was absolutely brilliant. She pitched it perfectly at the children while still demanding (and achieving) excellence from them. Katie danced beautifully and worked so hard. Her face lit up to receive compliments from the teacher and acknowledgment from Yoko Ichino.

A short break again before they had a fabulous time learning Nutcracker rep with Company dancers. They did the French dolls dance and she grinned the whole time. Q&A time and we still finished in time to run for a much earlier train!
