Sometimes, it's all about the hunt

... for the perfect tree, that is! We set out this afternoon to find our perfect Christmas Tree. Every year, we go to the same place and we walk the rows and rows of trees. Let's face it, after about 2 dozen, they all start to look alike!

Kaylee had picked out a perfect one, but we all agreed that we should continue looking to be sure. After walking the entire lot looking for a better one... we walked back and cut down Kaylee's choice.

This poor tree was criticized by BJ and the kids for it's size and shape... I laughed as everyone has an entirely different facial expression. Stay patient little tree... one year, someone will take you home!

Every year brings new stories about the "hunt" and every year we laugh at memories from years past. I think this years memory will include the warm temps, the muddy road, this poor little tree and the mile we walked only to take the first tree we liked.
