Osprey
We had a low tide walk on the beach this morning and were able to explore the river bed on the exposed sand. The osprey was up at the top of the eucalyptus stand by the river mouth. I've only ever seen him over on the cliffs, in a particular pine tree, so this was a treat. He looks even wilder in this foliage.
After a little yardwork we took ourselves out to lunch for fish tacos. The restaurant is in a wildly successful warehouse area that is home to countless wineries and a couple of beer pubs. And a distillery. We decided to see what that was all about, and had a tiny taste of a local rye whiskey, as well as a single malt. Both were very smooth and lovely, sweeter than I would have guessed. We could have opted for the daily tasting flight: 2 gins, 2 agaves and 2 whiskeys, but then some of us would have had to spend the night. I was tipsy enough from the approximate teaspoon that I enjoyed.
