Finally!

After more than two-and-a-half years, the barrier that blocked off this key point of access to Penicuik Estate has been removed. It took a lot of local action, Midlothian Council taking the issue to court, an unsuccessful appeal against the subsequent damning verdict and then months of waiting. Hopefully those who put it up will have to pay at least the Council's costs, and I'd like to see the people of Penicuik compensated for being denied this route into the Estate for so long.
