Bit of an Alarming Experience

Once again we have been getting warnings on the television about ‘washing machines’ and ‘tumble driers’ and ‘dishwashers’ catching fire, and the usual impractical advice to never leave the appliance unattended and to switch off and unplug overnight.  So why do we have Economy Seven electricity then???
 
It was in talking about this that I realised that although we have a carbon monoxide alarm in the utility room (two actually) the nearest smoke alarm is in the passageway – not much good if the door is shut.  So to correct this safety hazard we purchased an additional smoke alarm, and while we were at it one for each of our offices / studio as well.
 
Today I have been fitting them.  Other makes are available.
