Distance

Looks as though it would not take very long to walk across the ridge in the foreground an on to the snowy slopes. But the telephoto lens is misleading. You would have to cross the quicksands first and then trek several miles. To get there by road would be over twenty miles.

The early sun was very welcome but the strengthening north westerly breeze was very cold.
