Trip to London.
Went to see the last but one day of the Taylor Wessing Portrait competition photos at the NPG.
I was rather underwhelmed by the photos this year. In the past there has been some stunning portraits but this time they just seemed to be all a load of miserable looking people. There were a couple of stand out pics but generally not my cup of tea.
The NPG had also squeezed it all into a gallery that was much too small, far far too crowded to enjoy the pictures even though they were timed tickets. I'll go again next year and hope for better.
In more positive news Roman Vishniac Rediscovered at the Photographers' Gallery was superb and well worth a visit.
Some extra snaps of busy old London; nice to go for a day but nicer to get back to the countryside and some peace and quiet at the end of the day.
