More Wood Ducks!

A back blip to Friday and after a medical appointment I stopped by my favorite duckie haunt to check in on the wood ducks and I wasn't disappointed at all.  Later that same day, Nanna K and her spry nine year old granddaugher Fiona visited the very same spot....saw the bronzed shoes I hung there in November and also saw the wood ducks!   Her image from Friday is here.
Extras of a couple of female wood ducks and two more males.
Wood ducks are one duck that has claws enabeling them to perch and nest in trees.. The wood duck is also known as the Carolina Duck. The male (drake), with its iridescent green and purple head and bold white striping, is much more colorful than the female (hen). The female has a gray-brown head and a brownish-green neck and body. These ducks are medium-sized, typically measuring about 19 inches long with an average wingspan of 29 inches. They weigh 2 pounds or less; the hen being a bit smaller than the drake.
