New arrivals at the duck pond

Another hot day and didn't get as early a start as I wanted out to birding spots as I had another appointment first thing.  Nothing doing at the first few visits then we spotted a grebe taking fish into the rushes.  After several trips out came proud Mama with new baby, no sign of partner while she quietly cruised close to nest site.  Maybe there is still one to hatch.  Then more excitement when a coot with two tiny young one launched at a shag that surfaced nearby in extras
