Ursonate

Special...and in so many ways.

Betty roared bravely across the monsoon-lashed M8 to Glasgow.
The weather could have been our undoing but like good Canadians we coped.
We sheltered amongst the crowds and the Rembrandt in Kelvingrove then, an impromptu bowl of Ramen before an equally unplanned viewing of Stan & Ollie. So far, so blissful ...
The main event was to see Daniel Knox, an intriguing singer/songsmith from Chicago appearing in a tiny cellar as part of the Celtic Connections festival.
Daniel has a rich baritone voice, an equally quirky piano style and a literal bundle of disarming, dark songs to sing.
From this bundle, he would scrabble to select a scruffy scrap of paper containing the most appropriate song to match his own developing mood.
A roller-coaster ride, each song finished, the song was crumpled up and thrown to the floor to join the growing pile until he'd had enough. As I said, special....
Happy and fulfilled we high-tailed it out of town, homeward bound.

I'm not clever enough to know how to give you an easy link but try to find a viddy of Daniel Knox playing 'Don't Touch Me' or listen to 'Chasescene', his latest album
I recommend it.
