Marching Out

I was up early for a dawn shoot this morning but as I drove towards Dawlish Warren I did wonder to myself whether dawn was going to bother to break! Oh well, a few spits in the air didn't bode particularly well but never mind.

These old posts, I imagine are an early groyne system and they're gradually disappearing. Those that remain always make me think of an army marching out to sea. They're very colourful too when the sun shines on them. I'm sure I'll getting to showing that to you on another day but for now here they are in mono. I used three exposures and tonemapped them in Photomatix to get the best of the detail.
