A beautiful day
What a beautiful day today! Sparkling sunshine, blue skies and so cold. I took Murdoch for a long walk on the heath, and I decided to give my fisheye lens an outing as I have not used it for a while. It has the effect of making the blue sky very blue - not sure why the wide angle lenses do that, some clever clogs probably knows the reason why.
Then back home to a hot coffee before heading out again to do some grocery shopping and errands.
I leave for Skye on Thursday to attend a photography workshop. I have already started packing my camera equipment and this time I am very pleased to have an L bracket on my camera, its just a much easier way of attaching the camera to the tripod. Last time I was on a photography workshop in the Lake District it was so frustrating using my camera on the tripod, it kept drooping in portrait mode which can happen when you have a heavy camera and a loose tripod plate (that could never be tightened sufficiently). It will be cold and I think there is some snow, which bodes well for some good photos. One of the main reasons I chose to go in winter is sunrise is only at about 8.30am, and as we will be out for sunrise and sunset every day at least I won't have 4am starts that would be necessary if I went later in the year!
