Mt Taranaki/Mt Egmont

Amazing walks climbing up Mt Taranaki along jungle-like shady, wooded walkways past gnarled and twisted green and yellow lichen and moss-covered trees.   Huge feathery ferns cover the ground, invisible birds whistle in the palm tree tops - then suddenly we arrived in open ground by the Wilkie Pools, clear sparkling water trickling down and fabulous views back over the countryside - fabulous!
