Heron
My husband and I drove from Naples to Sanibel Island today. Once there we visited the Shell Museum and had a wonderful lunch at a small, but busy, cafe. While we were waiting to be seated I ran into a clothing shop next door and bought a soft, warm, sweatshirt. Fleece never felt so good. I have been cold for a few days, not having packed appropriately for 49 degree temperatures in Florida. After lunch we drove the wildlife loop, stopping the car periodically to get a shot. I was told by a birder that this is a Yellow-crowned Night Heron. We couldn't stay as long as I would have liked because we had a dinner reservation at a highly-recommended Persian restaurant back in Naples. I have to say, it was worth the early departure.
Thanks for visiting my journal and all of your positive reinforcement!
