Quick foray

into Bradford this morning before the predicted weather.

The sky looked ominous but it was dry when we got off the bus and walked through City Park. No fountains in Centenary Square so I expect they were worried about ice. I decided to take a closer look at the gate on the City Hall which I thought looked quite attractive. Not sure it would make a good fire exit but maybe it opens easily from inside. The statues either side are of Queen Elizabeth the first and Queen Victoria. The lovely building is very familiar but sometimes it’s good to look more closely at the detail.
Picked up an ordered book from Waterstones in the Wool Exchange building and had a coffee. As we were about to leave there was a rather strange appearance of a man wearing a table cloth and a mitre in his head made from high vision material, presumably emulating a Bishop - it takes all sorts!

A bit more shopping and we were back on the bus home. It had started to rain by then which by the time we reached the top of Allerton (only marginally lower than Queensbury - Bradford's high point ) it was snowing. It continued as we travelled down through our neighbour village of Wilsden but that seemed to be it. Just miserable the rest of the day; a huge contrast to yesterday!
