Outside Hythe Church on a wet, cold afternoon
A day best condemned to Room 101. Demands on carers responsible for elderly people are negatively affecting the lives and health of those carers.
When care in the community was introduced nobody envisaged the impact of an increasingly ageing population on all aspects of care provision. Whatever support there is for carers it’s adhoc and depends on where you live and what you manage to find out, often by chance.
Those who’ve walked the walk will understand, those who’ve haven’t can do little of practical use to help.
Even the weather was against us today. A bright morning gave way to a cold, wet afternoon which affected our walk down along the seafront at Hythe. Instead, we walked around the town and up to the rather interesting church. Something we’ve been meaning to these past decades. In addition we found a new cafe/teashop in Hythe that will repay a visit. So all not totally lost.
