A Mighty Wind
My Dear Fellows & Dear Princess Normal,
I'm quite liking the new office location, I've been having a good old explore of the neighbourhood (Thorndon) and it's got a nice vibe to it.
I have decided I would like to live here. We won't be able to afford it yet, but maybe in a year or so we could get a little place.
"I like the fact that there are shops handy," I explained to Lemon. "There's a chemist, a vet, a supermarket and even a dairy."
"It sounds weird when you say dairy," she explained. "You should go back to calling it a corner shop."
In fact I had a lovely lunchtime today. The heat abated a lot. Wellington's wind kept it at bay. There was a downside. The wind blew the froth off my coffee and sprayed all over me. It is embarrassing to look like you've been j1zzed on by a hot drink.
This picture is taken in front of "Old Saint Paul's". New Saint Paul's is not far away. A rather lumpy looking cathedral near the Beehive which I find sort of ugly. I much prefer this little white church. A sign outside proudly proclaims that it was built as far back as EIGHTEEN-SIXTY-SIX!!
I didn't say I've lived in flats older than that. One doesn't want to be a nob.
But it was a lovely day in a picturesque part of town. I bought myself a smoothie and pretended I was a tourist. I even found Wellington's Best Fish & Chip place! It says so outside!
It is called "The Chippery". I have taken note and shall revisit shortly to check its credentials. I might have to bring my chippy sauce with me.
