Mountain Roads

Another Pleasure Route we took today; that is up to Omalos Highplain and then we descended via Agia Irini onto Sougia ~ all the roads we drove are rural mountainous roads, with many curves and lots of ascends and descends as all in all we drove from coast to coast via the mountain range in between that took us up to the level of 1200 metres + some more. 

My main foto is from one of the little lakes at Omalos Plain and the two little spots of birds you can see in the waters are seagulls ! They got into the mountains up to this hight ~ in order to get here they must fly higher up as to cross the mountains! 
And in the extra's the waters of the Lybian Sea at Sougia, that little village at the end of the Agia Irini Gorge, what's flooded in Summertime with tourists was void of them now.... all shops and taverna's and rent rooms closed now ~  except for the single grill room that opens for the locals, it opened  at our arrival, so we're lucky to have our meal there and I found time for a little walk around + blipping. We called my hiking son from here as Sougia is one of his favs the world around and he's having his birthday this day... just our little surprise to show him images from Sougia.

The other extra is of a cyclist we met when entering the Omalos Plains... he's just leaving them and asked him where he's from => Belgium! AH from my neighbouring cycling nation :-) All in all today was a wonderful day of roaming the country roads and enjoying the panorama's that differ so much from every bend and corner.
