Death

What an odd last day of term. Thoroughly enjoyable however, got me thinking more than your typical day in the studio.

For the whole of the first term, we have been invited weekly to write a 'response' to an odd little object put in a Cabinet of Curiosities. Those who contributed were asked to join the two tutors who ran the task for a day workshop around the work we had done so far.

It turned out that the weekly objects were all related to the idea of death. The tutors wanted to try and visually represent death in a graphic way, to allow it to be talked about more freely in a society where the subject has become quite a taboo subject.

I, for one, avoid the thought of death, so it was quite a liberating day to focus on the ideas around it so much.
