Dippy

We were in Glasgow today and visited the Kelvingove Art Gallery to see Dippy.

I have copied from the Information Sheet as follows:

Dippy lived around 150 million years ago, and was 70 ft. long and probably weighed 80 tons when alive - equivalent to about 12 adult elephants.  He would have fed on conifers and ferns as there were no flowering plants then.  He would have lived for about 70 or 80 years, similar to modern day elephants and humans.


It was a beautiful day today after a little snow shower in the early morning, and Glasgow looked beautiful in the valley with the sun hitting the snow on the Campsies on the edge of the city.
