The No Reflection Pool
Outing by a group of Hill Of Tarvit Volunteers to the V&A. Dundee for a look around and for lunch. The main Blipfoto shows that the Reflecting Pool is frozen over hence the title. The restaurant is located in the glass box and has views over the Tay to the Kingdom and across the RSS Discovery and up river to the Tay Railway Bridge.
Mildly surprised how many of my fellow volunteers have not visited the Museum before today. That may change after today’s visit.
The first extra photo is of a poster which shows the that the Titanic’s sister ship; the Olympic was actually in service nearly a year before the Titanic’s maiden voyage. Apart from very minor differences they were identical. After the meeting with the Iceberg the Olympic was modified to improve its survivabilty if involved in a collision at sea.
The second extra is of a tree which had blown over. It is on my walk home from the bus stop. The afternoon sunlight highlights the colours and textures.
This tree is part of Preservation Order which covers about two miles of roadway and the trees on our "policies". Many of the roadside trees have sustained severe damage. Luckily our trees are in good shape. Long may they stay that way.
