White Wonderland
We had a meeting scheduled with one of the rangers at Longshaw today to talk about wildlife monitoring. We wondered what the roads would be like, as it was very icy first thing. We didn't take the usual cross-country route, but stuck to main roads and bus routes. Not unexpectedly, there had been significant snowfall in the Peak District and especially in the crisp bright light, everything looked very beautiful. We had a short walk and then some lunch before. This view is the familiar one looking towards Carl Wark and Higger Tor - green in Spring, purple in late Summer, rusty brown in Autumn, and today white with a covering of snow.
