Not Frozen
I tried the frozen bubble experiment this morning but I should have gone out earlier. It was already 18F when I started and they didn't freeze fast enough before they popped. The breeze didn't help. The other thing I did wrong was shooting on auto because I didn't want to bother with the camera while I was trying to blow bubbles. The poor camera couldn't figure out the exposure with all that white. By the time I downloaded and looked at the images and saw that none had turned out well, it was getting warmer outside. When I went out again it was 26F but I tried anyway and got this very cool image with all the colors and reflections. This and the first extra are straight out of the camera. Interesting how a small change in the angle made a difference in the colors. The second extra bubble has tiny ice crystals forming but that was as far as it got. Tomorrow I will get out earlier with the correct camera settings and try again....
Although I needed colder weather for my bubbles, I am grateful that Colorado is not within the Polar Vortex! I hope all my Midwest and New England friends are cozy in their homes, well stocked with food and firewood and gin. ;-)
