Christingle

It was the Christingle service this afternoon. I took my camera along and this young family asked me to take their photo. The vicar explained the symbolism of the orange and the candle and we sung a few carols. I felt sorry for the organisers who had given a leaflet to all the children in the village, visited the schools and prepared 120 Christingles and refreshments but only eight children were brought along and four of those belonged to the vicar and us! It seems the real meaning of Christmas is being lost.
