Trying something
I had a "clean the house frenzy" this morning so as I was cleaning out a cabinet shelf (to make room for other junk!) at the very back I found an old 28-90mm Canon lens. So of course I stopped the cleaning to put the lens on the camera to see if it would work and also what it would do. I decided to try some manual photos of the tulips as the light coming in on the table was nice. So I set my aperture and my shutter speed then...there is no focus ring on the lens!!!! The only way to focus is auto. If I turn the barrel it just changes the distance. I am thinking this lens came with my very first slr which was so long ago I can't remember what it even was! Or why I have the lens. It could have been my film camera! Wonder where that is! ??? So I set everything back to Priority mode and proceeded to take my photos.
I can't complain as I think it did a nice clear shot of the tulips, handheld. It might be a good lens to try out on the street photography as it has that little bit of zoom power but still 28mm wide angle and it is not heavy.
My house looks much better but I sure am glad the cleaning frenzy does not happen too often! But then again, I find things!
