Not your average view when you wake up!
We are so sad to be leaving Venice today.
Our most favourite place, and what a wonderful few days we have had.
The Carnivale was so wonderful to see, and meeting Poppins was really lovely.
All of our times in Venice have been amazing, and we are already planning our next visit. We have fallen in love with the place.
We know it is a tourist city, and it would probably not exist without people like us visiting it.
But it is so beautiful - no matter what time of the year you visit.
It is easy to ignore all the tatt you can find in any big city.
The city is what is important.
Ancient and wonderful.
A living monument to past glories.
Visit Venice while you still can - The seas are rising. Venice is sinking.
Not the best combination.
