Cold Feet

It snowed gently all day.  No real accumulation but it did result in slippery roads and a number of fender benders so we stayed home until late afternoon.

I read an article this morning about how birds, specifically, chickadees manage to survive in the bitter cold.  One way, of course, is to puff out the feathers to help maintain body warmth.  Their usual body temperature is about 105 F, but their feet can get close to freezing temperatures without distress to the bird and still with the ability to function well, thus making it easier to maintain their core temperature.

We went to see "The Favorite" this afternoon.  I enjoyed it, but my husband....not so much.   He has a difficult time getting his ear around the English accent, so at times I was doing simultaneous translation.  It's a good thing there were only two other people in the theater.
