Wortley Winter
We should have been travelling into Derbyshire to see college friends of Ann’s before they travelled back south. We all made the decision that it was better to call it off as they had further to travel home than us and the weather forecast further south and west was definitely worse than ours. A morning os snow showers, some white heavy, but it was melting on the roads as it fell and the overall temperature meant it melted during the afternoon. (We’ve been luckier than many.)
So we shopped at the Fox Valley market for food, came back and I stopped to take these photos, headed for the doctors surgery and to belatedly get our flu jabs and then called in the Post Office cafe for coffee and cake in Thurgoland followed by a relaxed and warm (in front of the fire) afternoon. Oh and I fed the birds who are clearing telling all their mates that there are bounties to be had in our garden.
