Helvellyn sparkles

As the coldest and snowiest day of the winter so far, Deb and I decided to climb Helvellyn. Fully laden with poles, Ice-axes, crampons et al, we set off mid morning. 

The route up was steep, tough, knee-deep snow at times, and absolutely invigorating! The wind kept lifting snow spirals, which sparkled in the sun.

See extras too - but a fabulous day which left us both knackered.
