A Logpile
The little wood that we frequently walk through is privately owned (the path is permissive and not a right of way). The owners have several piles of logs like this from trees that were cut down a couple of years ago to make way for a rerouted power line. Periodically they chop a few up for firewood. They certainly have enough for a few years.
Today the remnants of yesterday’s snow was highlighting the horizontal lines of the logs in this pile - so I stopped to photograph it. The light was very flat and there was not much colour - so I converted to mono and increase the contrast quite a lot.
