Declining Congregations?
There is often talk of the declining congregations at Churches in the UK but there is no evidence of that at St Peters RC Church in Gloucester (where Marlane and I got married by the way).
Since F.M.i.L. stopped driving we drive her to and from Church, except when she insists on getting the bus, using her free bus pass, during the summer when it is light until late into the evening.
Usually the car park is so packed that I just manage to squeeze in at the entrance but tonight there was enough room for me to back in up to the doorway. Just as well as Betty is in a wheelchair for a little while until her leg heals, she hurt it a week or so ago and it is very painful and makes it very difficult for her to walk.
I had wheeled her into church and wheeled her out again but had room to manouvre and pack up the wheelchair into the boot (our i20 in the foreground of the photo).
You can see the old red and cream building that was The Spread Eagle hotel many years ago, beyond that is a multi-storey car park which is next to the bus station. A coach can be seen passing between the two.
