Spent the day in birders heaven....
This morning I woke up early and headed down to a Vancouver Lake and a nice long walk. I heard about this lake from another blipper, kayakgirl. In the first extra you have a map of the paved trail and a bridge I found on an unpaved section. Yes I walked the entire 8 paved mile trail. I don't remember walking that far in a very long time. I took nearly 4 hours with many photo, rest and snack breaks...
The rest of the photos are mixed between the trail, the nature preserve and the last one - a contrast of old and new... The second extra, herons and bald eagles... dozens of herons and 4 bald eagles seen.. The third extra is a duck, a deer and two critters. The last one is down on the waterfront in Vancouver, Washington. I picked a spot on the road, took a picture than turned 180 degrees and took another.. The old industrial meeting the new upscale growth... That bridge is called the Interstate bridge that goes between Vancouver and Portland. I cross that bridge when I go to Portland.
A perfect Saturday.. Tomorrow I'll be up early and head over to see my dad. Hopefully he will be calmed down now but being there is the most important.. Then off to see the Super Bowl with family...
Monday I'm headed to Portland if the weather allows me too... Mid 20's F temps and up to 2 inches of snow they say... Oh and we generally don't salt the roads here as it hurts the fish.. The roads can get interesting very quickly...
