Year of the Pig

Yesterday was what can only be described as mixed.  Hubby's phone started giving out bank movement alerts at around 7.30 am.  At first we thought that it was related to flights booked recently.  However, the alerts kept coming so hubby checked his phone and was instantly wide awake.  Somebody was using his card details to book into the Park Regency in Houston, Texas.  They had also booked an internal flight and gone shopping.   Fortunately non of the transactions had been cleared.  The card was in hubby's wallet and had not been used by him since November.  We decided that trying to talk over the phone to the bank could be difficult due to language difficulties.   Banks here open at 11am.  Due to the Flower Festival a lot of roads are closed.  Hence hubby had to leave home at 10 am, the journey would normally take him half an hour.  A stop has now been put on the card and an investigation is underway.

In the meantime I met up with our friends at 12.30 and we walked to the flower festival.  It was once again spectacular.   There were lots of orchids, lillies, cacti.  There was examples of bonsai. Plants and bulbs were being sold.  Organic honey and other fresh produce was on sale.  Plus craft works and handmade clothes.   Then there were the beautifully decorated floats to look at.  I took so many shots that I ran out of room on my SD card.  Also of course choosing a main shot to show you also became difficult.  In the end, and with hubby's input,  I decided to show you this lovely pig.  The figures are made from Bolsa wood and are then decorated using flowers, rice, sweetcorn and any other natural product.

Hubby did come and join us about half an hour after our intitial arrival.  So after a shocking start to the day we ended it on a high.

We did a lot of walking and later went for a refreshing swim before going out for dinner.   After such a busy day we were very tired.

I will put up a couple of extras.  I will so try to put some up on Flickr.
