Punga fern and a fence

Three pungas are part of the planting on the southern side of the house. Looking out my kitchen window I found the play if shadows on the fence pleasing. I'm looking forward to the new garden slowly softening the fences.

Dicksonia squarrosa, wheki or rough tree fern are other names they're known by. They're common throughout New Zealand and can tolerate a range of conditions but they do like to be kept damp. I can expect mine to grow up to 4m tall.

I've done well today with mixing up being upright and then resting with my leg up. I can't see what's going on with my wound but it feels ok.

Today's gratitude: For feeling joy and pleasure as I look out on my new landscape.
