Day #14 Milford Sound
Thank you all so much for all the hearts, stars and comments for yesterday’s albatross pictures. They are all greatly appreciated, especially when I have no time to comment at all.
Today we were in both Dusky Sound and Milford Sound in Fiordland. We have been here three times before and each time it has rained and been very dull and cold. This time the forecast promised some better weather and it sure did deliver.
We had blue skies and sunshine with a few clouds which made our visit so much more special. The iconic views of the most photographed mountain in New Zealand, Mitre Peak were a bit out of our reach today on account of the wind. It was quite chilly but very breezy which meant we had no fabulous reflections of the mountain, but after all our attempts, I’ll take what we got as a huge win for sure.
Talking about winning – to top our great day yesterday with the albatrosses, we had the most fabulous meal at the French Chef’s table in the evening and hubby decided to chance his luck in the casino as he occasionally does. After 3 shoes of blackjack we were $400 up so decided to call it a night :)
This cruise has been one treat after another and has just kept delivering. We now have a couple of days at sea on our way to Sydney for two nights, then home and back to reality. But for the moment we will keep enjoying our last few days.
