Flighty Sparrow

In the spring every nest box is full of brood after brood of house sparrows here. There is a constant chatter outside and all in all they are fairly well behaved towards each other enjoying quite the social gathering in the brasserie. They seem to enjoy peanuts and sunflower hearts as their preferred bar snack but are up for anything when the weather gets tough.

There were probably no house sparrows in Britain before the arrival of man and are believed to have come in with the Neolithic men, our first farming ancestors from across Europe from their original home in Africa. Interesting piece of info I thought reading this today.

The Extra - another bullfinch flight shot.
