Robin's Rock: Vision to Complete.....

Another great Bonsai Weekend.    I have posted Robin and his latest bonsai and rock creation.  It was an idea that he was working very hard to come true.   
     He came back today with the material needed to make it come true.   First he created a basket that would hold the Lauerpedlum in soil on the back of the rock.  He bought screen and proceeded to make the basket, create the sides, lined with a screen that would excess water to flow out but hold the soil and roots to allow the tree to grow....
      Then he hung the basket on the back, and wrapped the top of the tree over the front of the curved rock.  Getting the basket secure and stable required a bit of adjustment .  Robin was determined to make this happen.
     Next, he went to the front of the rock, wired the tree out, trimmed, bent, placed, designed and created what he thought was a natural way a tree could hang over the dockside.  
     I have put together a collage of the 4 stages Robin went through to create his tree and rock.  When it was all done, secure and  stable, he carried it to his car and took it home at the end of the workshop.  He was one happy camper!

I was happy.....   we didn't see or hear anything from the bear today.  It had visited the nursey last night, found nothing good to eat, left some bear scat and didn't return.   Whew!!!!   glad he didn't come back.
