Fieldfare in the Crab Apple Tree!

He's the sole occupier of the Crab Apple Tree most of today, because he chases off the Blackbirds quite aggressively. I thought the entwined twigs made a nice frame for him.  He looks as if he is the Guardian of that sole apple:)  I've blipped him quite a lot recently, but he'll probably be returning to Scandinavia come March and we won't see him or his mates until October.  All the snow has disappeared and the pond has thawed, so I took a walk round the garden  -  no flowers or mushrooms to be seen, and all the fallen hazel nuts and Crab Apples have disappeared. The farmer hasn't ploughed the field at the bottom of my garden yet  -  I am wondering what he will plant this year!
