An early birthday treat for Kate... a treasure hunt around Covent Garden and then dinner at Joe Allen's.

The first part of the hunt was fine, but after a cocktail in the National Portrait Gallery we didn't quite muster the same enthusiasm for the second half of the hunt - and it was cold, dark and sleeting by then.

Joe Allen's was fun though, so all in all a great day.
