Julie Cope's Grand Tour
I went to The Abbot Hall Gallery in Kendal to see Grayson Perry's fabulous tapestries, each one 114cm x 135cm, or 9'6" x 11'3" in old money. They were designed by him on an interactive pen display, translated into coded instructions for a digital loom by Factum Arte, Madrid, and threaded and woven by Flanders Tapestries. I was able to sit and admire them whilst listening to a recording of him narrating her 3000-word fictional biography. An afternoon well-spent. The gallery staff were perfectly happy for me to take photos of them - though the extra, being hand-held at 0.6 seconds, is not quite sharp.
