Dia dos Heróis Moçambicanos. A public holiday called Day of the Mozambican Heroes, in celebration of all of those who fought to liberate Mozambique from Portuguese rule, which was achieved in 1975.

What better way to avoid work (mostly) than to hang around reading in coffee shops, practise with my Portuguese books on the beach, and eat Turkish food.

The server at the Turkish place, which bears the riveting restaurant name of 'Turkish Food', remarked on my rather bronzed (/burnt) appearance and suggested I'd had too much sun earlier in the day. Yes, but it was glorious.
