Awakening

This flower has just stood as a single stalk for over a month now. It was a gift from a neighbor when we returned from France and I wasn't quite sure what it was. A couple of days ago, it started blooming -- not just one flower, but several.  I'm not usually a 'flower picture' person but it is truly gorgeous, especially as the sun filters through its petals.  The image isn't doing it justice (a bit better when viewed in large)!
