Back in the Waiting Room

A very simple blip. No processing. I'm not in the mood.

After appearing to be recovering well, Misty was a little off colour this afternoon. After her recent serious illness we played safe and took her to the emergency vet. She continued to seem unwell, and blood tests showed she was very anaemic again. A further test showed that the tumour in her spleen must have spread invisibly, and that there was little that could be done.

It appears that her apparent recovery was an illusion created by the transfusions she recieved, which were working their way out of her system.

She was put to sleep at about 3:30 this morning with both MrsCyclops and I by her side, stroking her gently. Her head sank gently onto her paws, and she was gone.

We miss her terribly already.

We are very grateful for the extra two weeks we had with her, and for all the people who worked so hard to give her a chance. Sadly it wasn't to be.
