Highway Work

The highway (in the distance) is being widened. Unfortunately the road completely bisects Blackheath with the result that from about 9:00 pm until about 4:00 am, streets are blocked, the level crossing is cut off, detour signs abound, witches hats are everywhere, trucks rumble about. Blinding work lights assault the vision of passer's by and there is quite a lot of noise. I don't know how anyone living in the CBD can possibly sleep. 

The extra shows a lonely Stop/Slow man waiting patiently for some traffic to require his services. I like to call these blokes "signtologists".
