Maddie's Christmas carols
I am the mum who is always early to everything, I hate being late and people who are late. This results in me over padding my time I am usually 30 minutes early to things, unless Ben is with me he on the other hand is always late at least 30 mins. I have learnt to tell him the wrong time to get him to things on time, it works most of the time.
Christmas carols started at 5.30 last night, I fed the kids packed the car and arrived at 5. I lugged 5 chairs out of the car, a picnic dinner and held 3 girls hands, camera around my neck and all, I felt like super woman, just a older, squishier version, minus the leotard. Maddie was performing in the novelty play and she was an angel, she has 2 lines and had been rehearsing them over and over again. All the preps walked out so tiny and cute in there costumes. They play was awesome as anything they do is, and only something parents can really love.
It was so nice to see maddie comfortable and so very happy, running around the school with all her friends, hugging and chasing and singing with them all very bitter sweet glad she had made these wonderful connections sad to see them all gone next year. It was very clear that Maddie and her bestie were going to be ok, as long as they stayed together they giggled and danced and shared chips, during the carols, looking out for one another, some how they had convinced each other that they were attending the Christmas eve carols, and that it was after their school carols TONIGHT hmmm they were so excited when the school ones ended asking if we were now going to the ones in the city. We have no idea where this plan or idea of theirs came from just that when we said no we were not going they were in tears. A promise to take them to the local ones in a few days, bought a shadow of a smile back.
Maddie's teacher came over and said it was so nice to see maddie come out of her shell a bit tonight as she was very crazy and full of energy singing and dancing, they are her passions and what she loves anything to do with singing and performing makes her extremely happy.
Miss Bailees is tomorrow night. Lara is determine to get up and sing with the class also
